The "Acoustic Optimizer", a new technology which is unique to Yamaha, has been created to enrich and control resonance by physically adjusting the flow of sound waves, thanks to its design and positioning within the instrument. The combination of Acoustic Optimizer and digital technologies gives YDP-142 an incredible expressive capability.
For comfortable practice at home
For pianists who want to practice quietly, Intelligent Acoustic Control function automatically adjusts the sound so that you can still experience a balanced, rich tone even at low volumes. For silent practice, a headphone connection socket is provided.
Half-Pedal Control
The built-in continuous or "half-damper" pedal allows for increased nuance and subtlety during sustained passages. This is done by allowing continuously increasing amounts of note sustain from slight to full, just like an acoustic piano.
Record for self-check. Convenient 2-track song recording for every piano player.
The built-in, 2-track song recorder allows you to record 2 independent parts. For example, you can record yourself playing the left-hand part on one track and the right-hand part on another. This is a great way to learn how to play a difficult piece, one hand at a time. You could also record a string part on one track and a piano part on the other, an easy way to hear song and arrangement ideas.
Best of all, you can change tempo or Voices even after you've recorded your performance. Using MusicSoft Downloader and a compatible USB MIDI interface like the Yamaha UX16, you can transfer your user song to a personal computer for backup, printing with a scoring program or further editing using a MIDI sequencing program.There's also a built-in metronome to help you stay in perfect time.
