iRig BlueBoard is the first wireless MIDI pedalboard for iOS and Mac that allows you to control your music apps and more from the floor.

Now control parameters of your MIDI-compatible apps like AmpliTube wirelessly from the floor. Switch between presets, change patches, turn effects on and off and control effects like volume wah pedals all from the stage floor without worrying about tripping over wires. Take control
So how does iRig BlueBoard work? It connects to your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad or Mac via Bluetooth, and when you press its foot switches, it sends out control signals that are converted to MIDI by the iRig BlueBoard app.

At this point the MIDI messages are available to virtually any MIDI compatible app you're running on your iOS device or on your Mac.

The control messages sent from iRig BlueBoard to AmpliTube or other Core MIDI music apps can include bank up/down, MIDI continuous controllers, as well as parameter changes on apps such as IK'sAmpliTube, VocaLive, SampleTank, and iGrand Piano iOS apps plus many others, such as Apple GarageBand.

So what is this A/D conversion, and why should I care? A/D conversion is what happens when the analog signal from your instrument, like your guitar, bass or keyboard, is "converted" into a format that digital devices (like your iPhone/iPad/Computer) can read, understand and modify. It's like having a foreign language translator right there plugged into your iPhone. As you can guess, not all language translators are the same. Some are better, and some not so good. In the digital world, the quality of the translator is indicated by the "bit" number. 24-bit conversion is outstanding, and it accurately and completely converts the entire range of your signal and transients, preserving all of the nuances of your instrument. In plain terms, you'll get the same warm sound of your beloved instrument in the digital realm of your mobile device that you fell in love with at the store.

Power of the phantom – Use your studio mics
High-quality studio condenser microphones require 48V of external power to function. It's part of what makes them sound so good, crisp and ultra-accurate. With iRig PRO, you can plug your condenser mic in, flip the phantom power switch and record until your heart's content. Through our magic circuitry wizardry, you don't need to purchase 48 volts worth of batteries… a simple standard (and included) 9V will work just fine for this. It's magic. Really.

Well, it’s basically a stompbox interface for your iOS device that allows you to use your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad with your existing pedalboard and rig. Or, you can use just the iRig Stomp. Usage Exsample
There are many ways to integrate iRig MIDI into a mobile rig for various types of musicians such as: keyboard players, producers, guitar/bass players and vocalists to name a few.

An iOS device as a synthesizer/instrument
There are many instrument apps for the iPhone/iPad, and it's fun to play them on their multi-touch screen. But this is impracticle when it comes to using them as a live instrument. iRig MIDI has the ability to use any MIDI keyboard controller (from home digital pianos to advanced synthesizers or computer controllers) as an input source an iOS device to easily control instrument apps in a familiar way.

 

The included SampleTank for iOS also offers a high-quality mobile alternative to traditional software and hardware sound modules and has been studied from the ground up to work as a live performance instrument where it can access as a vast 750 MB library of over 400 ready-to-use sounds.

An IOS as Drum Machine/sequencer/recorder
Use iRig MIDI with drum machines, "MPC-style" pads and groove boxes. Connecting one of these devices to the iRig MIDI input allows the hardware device to play an iOS instrument app or to use the rhythm patterns of an external device with an iOS app as a drum and groove sound module. iRig MIDI also works as an easy-to-use MIDI recorder with the free iRig MIDI Recorder app.

 

Alternatively, producers can play MIDI rhythm patterns or MIDI sequences on their iOS device and use an external drum machine or any MIDI sound modules connected to the iRig MIDI output as sound modules.

Use a Floor Controller with Guitar and Vocal app
Connecting a MIDI floor controller to the input of iRig MIDI allows the user to control effects processing apps for guitar and bass such as AmpliTube or vocal processing apps such as VocaLive which will be updated soon to receive MIDI messages. This will allow the user to change presets or to use pedal controllers to operate wah or any type of continuous controller effects. This also enables keyboard players, DJs and other performing musicians to control iOS effects apps without taking their hands off of their instruments.

 

Advanced Application Using MIDI Thru
