KRK ERGO Room Corection System

Price List Rp.7.950.000
KRK ERGO Room Corection System
ERGO™ - Powered by RoomPerfect™
A great mix starts with a great recording room. But when it comes to achieving the most accurate mix, your room may have the upper hand. Like any room, your studio's acoustics include offending frequencies and room reflections, and none of these are helping your mix. Getting a handle on these problems has traditionally meant the installation of soft foam or fabrics, and that's a great start. But now you can get even closer to a perfect room, and a perfect mix, because the future of studio sound is here, and it's called ERGO.
Hear the difference

KRK, long known for highly accurate studio monitors brings you ERGO (Enhanced Room Geometry Optimization). ERGO is for the recording engineer, DJ, or musician that monitors in less-than-perfect acoustic conditions. ERGO is an audio recording interface / room correction system designed to measure and analyze phase/frequency problems within a listening environment. The powerful digital signal processor in the ERGO unit processes audio to correct for the offending issues. So, you can stop worrying about your studio's acoustics and start focusing on your mix!

ERGO's high-end sound quality makes it perfect for the discriminating audio professional, while the affordable price puts it within reach of the typical recording hobbyist. Every studio needs an ERGO, because even the most accurate monitor in an imperfect room isn't going to solve mixing problems, but ERGO will. ERGO also makes your mix translate from the studio to different environments. How good is a great rack that only sounds great in your room? With ERGO, your mix sounds great everywhere you, or your fans want to hear it. Want better sound, and in more places? Put ERGO in the mix.

ERGO consists of the ERGO hardware unit, a measurement microphone, and the required software. These three pieces are used to measure and analyze phase/frequencies problems within a listening environment.
The best approach

While conventional room correction systems utilize simple analysis and limited bands of EQ (often fewer than 8), ERGO uses multiple measurements and proprietary algorithms to create a 3D image of the room, and then applies 1024 dynamic filters to control the audio environment. Our 3D model allows users to preserve the "good" characteristics of the room, while correcting the bad... ERGO doesn't color the sound or produce an artificially sterile environment. ERGO produces the best mix for a given room; a mix that will translate better to other listening environments, since it was mixed in a "perfect" room.

Room perfect technology
The sophisticated room analysis and correction system within ERGO, called "RoomPerfect" was developed by Lyngdorf Audio in Denmark after many years of R&D work. The patented algorithm in the system compares many measurements and corrects for phase and frequency problems using thousands of filters, not just a few. The result is the most accurate mix. ERGO, analyze this!

Lyngdorf Audio utilizes some of the best audio engineers in the world to develop superior technology. Lyngdorf Audio is the industry leader and cutting-edge digital audio company and we are proud to exclusively license their technology.
Features:
  • Large Volume Knob: Digitally controlled analog volume control simultaneous control of ERGO's A/B/Sub outputs.
  • "A" Speakers: Enables or disables the audio being sent to the "A" speakers.
  • "B" speakers: Enables or disables the audio being sent to the "B" or subwoofer speakers.
  • Focus / Global / Bypass: Our 3D model allows users to preserve the "good" features of the room, while correcting the bad. ERGO also doesn't color the sound or produce an artificial anechoic environment. Normally, ERGO corrects for your monitoring position. This gives you perfectly corrected sound while mixing. In Global mode, the correct spot is widened so that others (producers, musicians, A&R) can enjoy your mix in a corrected environment.
  • Headphone Volume (side panel): Adjusts the output level of the headphone jack. The headphones output mirrors the selected monitor outputs.
  • Calibration Switch (back panel): This enables the room calibration microphone and places ERGO into analysis mode.

KRK ERGO Set Up
Flexible Integration

ERGO integrates with all PC and Mac-based computer recording systems. In these environments ERGO appears as a standard PC or Mac Firewire audio interface, so setup is easy and compatibility is assured. With ERGO's analog inputs you can still use whatever non-computer based recording hardware you are currently using without having to re-configure your system. In an analog mode ERGO sits between your existing recording interface or mixer and your speakers. ERGO also integrates with Pro Tools by allowing a S/PDIF signal to be digitally connected. Assign the S/PDIF output of your Pro Tools rig as your main Left/Right outputs, then connect ERGO, and experience the incredible results of RoomPerfect. And because all processing resides in ERGO no overhead is needed from the computer audio system.

Connectivity
If the sophisticated room analysis wasn't enough, ERGO can help around your studio in other ways too. ERGO can switch between two sets of full range monitors, or two monitors and a subwoofer via its front panel controls. Switch easily between monitors or monitors and sub systems. Each set of speakers will have their own correction filters. ERGO also provides a choice of selecting between two stereo audio streams through the headphone output. While ERGO's large volume control delivers ultra-smooth response of

ERGO's A/B/Sub outputs. ERGO has your connections.
Finally, ERGO is all about quality construction. From its sturdy anodized aluminium case and die-cast end-caps, to its use of 120dB SNR converters, ERGO feels and sounds solid and robust. Smart and strong, ERGO is the perfect solution in an imperfect world

Clearly In ControlCommand all control room monitoring functions right from your mix position, with the MSC1 Monitor System Controller. In a convenient desk-top form-factor, the MSC1 provides essential “monitor strip” features found in large mixing consoles. Since the acoustics of your room can play a big part in what you hear, the MSC1 includes JBL's highly acclaimed RMC Room Mode Correction Technology. The end-result is a calibrated reference environment in which your speakers work in harmony with your room to take the guesswork out of mixing. With RMC you can tune your monitor system for greater clarity at the mix position. With the MSC1, you’re clearly in control. Includes Calibration Microphone and MSC1 Control Center Software.*

(*Control Center Software is compatible with XP and Vista 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. Use on a Macintosh computer requires Macintosh Version MSC1 Control Center, and Macintosh OS. MSC1 Control Center Software for Macintosh now available.)

Works With Any Speaker System
In the quest to deliver better mixes in any room, JBL developed RMC technology for it’s acclaimed LSR Series studio monitors. But we didn’t stop there. We designed the MSC1 with next generation RMC to work with any studio monitor system in any room. No matter what speaker system you own, you can have a truly calibated environment fine-tuned to give you your best mixes.

Clearly in Control Of Your System
As the “hub” of your system, the MSC1 controls the monitoring of three stereo input sources such as a computer workstation, mixing console, electronic musical instrument, CD or personal MP3 player. The MSC1's primary speaker “A” outputs include a level control, monitor EQ and RMC Room Mode Correction to tune the monitors to the room. Selecting the “B” outputs assigns the volume control and input routing to a second set of speakers. Subwoofer controls let you add a sub to the “A” speaker system, with a dedicated level control, and a choice of bass management crossover settings. The MSC1 headphone output and independent level control let you send a headphone feed to a performer or monitor using headphones in the control room.

Control Center Software
In addition to managing RMC Calibration, the MSC1 Control Center Software provides fine-control of monitor EQ, speaker alignment delay, subwoofer balance, and bass-management crossover settings. Control Center Software is included with the MSC1. Control Center is compatible with XP and Vista 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. Macintosh software now available.

Control Your Room
The MSC1 includes JBL’s acclaimed RMC Room Mode Correction technology that measures your room and tackles low frequency problems caused by room modes and boundary conditions. The MSC1 comes with everything needed to calibrate your system including a Calibration Mic, MSC1 Control Center Software*, and accessory cables. Calibration is simply carried out using the supplied microphone, MSC1 Control Center Software and your computer. Before measuring your room, Control Center meticulously measures the signal path of your audio system to set the stage for an accurate speaker calibration. Control Center Software guides you through every step. Once your system has been measured, re-calibration of your speakers is fast and easy and can be done at any time. After RMC calibration, the MSC1 works as a stand-alone controller and connection to a computer is not required.

MSC1 Control Center Software is a sophisticated software program that not only manages the RMC Room Mode Correction process, it also checks your computer audio signal path to ensure accurate calibration of your speaker system. Using flash animations, Control Center software walks you through each step of the process. Once your computer and audio interface have been measured, calibration of your speaker system is fast and can be easily repeated at any time.

Control Center Software checks your computer settings and asks you to confirm if you are using an external audio interface or the computer’s internal sound card for RMC calibration.

During the system check, Control Center provides animated on screenv instructions that guide you in setting the MSC1 and audio interface and for the tests.

After performing system tests, Control Center provides instructions for mic placement prior to calibrating your speaker system.

During the RMC Process, Control Center measures your speaker system, identifies low frequency room modes and boundary conditions, calculates corrective filters and downloads coefficients to the MSC1 Controller. Following calibration Control Center displays the a graphic image and numeric values of the filters applied to the feed to each speaker and subwoofer.

The MSC1 includes accessory cables needed for calibration. Control Center shows you the cables and connections needed for each step of the system check.

What is JBL RMC Room Mode Correction
A JBL first, the RMC™ Room Mode Correction system includes everything needed to analyze LF problems and restore low frequency accuracy at the mix position. RMC is included in JBL’s premium LSR6300 series and LSR4300 Series. The MSC1 makes RMC available at a most affordable price point for use with any speakers.

What are in the room and how does RMC help
In low bass region, the ROOM is in control – Rooms resonate at low frequencies. The resonance is the result of Standing Waves or Room Modes. Room modes can mislead you give you a false impression of bass at the mix position. A Room Mode is caused by the room’s geometry. In a typical project studio, the strongest room modes exist at 60Hz and below. When your speakers play bass frequencies, say from a bass guitar, the room may resonate at the frequency of the room mode. The effect is a boomey sound that continues to ring even after the note is gone. This is perceived to be a problem in the mix, when actually it is a problem in the room. Depending on where the speakers are placed and where you are sitting, it can be very dramatic. If you don’t correct for this problem, you may attenuate, limit or eq bass signals that excite the problem. But the problem is not the mix. It is the way the mix sounds in that specific room. And if you react by changing your mix, the mix will sound bass-light everywhere else it is played.

Professional studios eliminate the problem by building real bass traps in the control room. Since low frequencies wave lengths are very long (50 Hz has a 22 foot wave length) it takes a lot of space and mass to absorb the frequencies that excite the room modes. Most studios have neither the room or budget to build real bass traps. Putting absorptive material on the walls does not help low frequency problems. Additionally, a speaker’s proximity to walls and the work surface can cause reinforcement of upper bass frequencies, and coloration that may also adversely affect mix balances.

JBL RMC™ Room Mode Correction in the MSC1 is an analyzer that measures the problem and applies filters that dramatically improve the bass performance. It can make a big difference in problematic rooms. Once the system is calibrated, you can make better mixes, that sound right when played on other systems. Achieving mix balances is no longer a struggle and mixing is a pleasure.

The MSC1 Monitor System Controller includes essential “Monitor Strip” features found in large mixing consoles so you can take control of all monitoring functions from your place at the mix position. Since the acoustics of the room can play a big part in what you hear, the MSC1 includes JBL's highly acclaimed RMC Room Mode Correction Technology to tune your monitor system to the room. The end-result is a calibrated reference environment in which your speakers work in harmony with your room to take the guesswork out of mixing.
