Product Description
The FBT Jolly Series speakers feature lightweight, yet rugged gas injected molded polypropylene cabinet construction.
The Jolly 8 series speakers modern cabinet appearance provides fixed installations with an elegant design that blends into any décor. The asymmetrical shape of the Jolly 8ba cabinet also allows use as a floor stage monitor.

The FBT Jolly 8ba is a two-way design incorporating an 8” low frequency woofer and a 1” High frequency driver coupled to a 90°H x 60°V horn. The active internal crossover is at a fixed frequency of 2k. With a frequency range of 60Hz – 20kHz, Jolly 8ba provides hi fidelity sound for both speech and music applications with a maximum SPL of 119 dB. A front face steel grille protects the woofer from external damage. FBT’s ADAP® Advanced Dynamic Active Protection circuitry protects speaker/driver components against failure.

The Bi amplified Jolly 8ba active speaker features a 150w RMS Class G low frequency amp, and a 50 w RMS Class G high Frequency amp. The control panel features a volume control, 2 band EQ with +- 12dB of cut/boost @ 80Hz LF and +- 12 db cut/ boost @ 10kHz, a balanced Neutrik® input combo jack (Female XLR, ¼” TRS, ¼”), balanced XLR link output jack, Microphone / Line input switch, and Ground lift switch, LED Power on and Limiter LED Indicators.
The two M-6 fly points built into the cabinets, along with the optional S/J 8u or S/J 8 mounting brackets allow the Jolly 8ba speakers to be surface mounted on walls or ceilings.

For portable or fixed use the Jolly 8ba can be mounted on speaker stands by using the optional A/J 8 adapter for vertical mounting. The S/J 8u- U bracket when used along with the MSA 200 adapter kit, allows horizontal mounting with adjustable tilt angling of Jolly 8ba speakers on a tripod microphone stands for near field monitoring use.

Marcus Miller’s combination of soulful groove and astounding technical ability has made him one of the jazz/R&B world’s preeminent virtuoso bassists, to say nothing of his long and impressive list of credits as a Grammy®-winning songwriter and producer.
Miller's powerfully musical bass playing is familiar to many through his seminal work with Miles Davis, David Sanborn and Luther Vandross.
Born in 1959 into a musical family—his father was a church organist and choir director and his cousin is legendary jazz pianist Wynton Kelly—Miller was proficient on clarinet and piano by age 13. He studied clarinet at New York's High School of Music and Art (now the Laguardia School of Performing Arts) and at Queens College. Miller took up bass on his own initiative when he joined a neighborhood dance band, because it was the instrument "that seemed most interesting." He was not formally trained as a bassist, and has remarked that he simply started by transferring his knowledge of clarinet to bass. 
During college he became increasingly busy in New York clubs and studies, quickly building a reputation as one of the city's most in-demand bassist/composers. To date, he has recorded with artists including Wayne Shorter, McCoy Tyner, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Grover Washington Jr., Donald Fagen, Bill Withers, Chaka Khan, Meshell Ndegeocello, LL Cool J and many others. Miller contributed to several Vandross albums as musician, composer and producer, winning an R&B song of the year Grammy® in 1991 for "The Power of Love." Miller also became Mile Davis's main collaborator in Davis's later years, composing and producing the 1986 album Tutu.
The first of Miller's several solo albums, Suddenly, was released in 1983; His album M2, released on his own 3 Deuces Records label, won a 2001 Grammy® for best contemporary jazz album. Silver Rain appeared in 2005.
Fender introduced its Marcus Miller Jazz Bass® guitar in 1998; a five-string version appeared in 2003.

DW Acoustic EQ Snare Drum

Drum Workshop, Inc. and Randall May International have recently signed a deal that will allow the U.S.-based drum manufacturer to exclusively offer May’s patented new Acoustic EQ technology for drum set snare drums.

Acoustic EQ is an advanced venting system that enables drummers to variably control the amount of air leaving the drum via a series of precision gates that are cut into the shell. The result is a drastic change in tone that is amplified when a microphone is placed near the outside of the shell. Both rows of narrow vents may be independently adjusted to achieve the desired sound, and drummers can easily adjust tone within a song by utilizing two smooth operating, low-profile machined aluminum handles.

“We’re so excited to share this new technology with drummers everywhere,” May said. “In fact, the overwhelming positive feedback we’ve been getting from pros like Jim Keltner, Greg Upchurch and Nisan Stewart has already proven its viability and versatility.”

The 6x14" Acoustic EQ Snare Drum is available as part of the DW Collector’s Series line.
