The Ultra-Portable HAMMOND SK1 and SK2 pack all the power, all the tradition, and all the soul of a Vintage B-3 into a trim 15-pound package. We haven't stopped there, including a wide series of other voices, like Acoustic and Electric Pianos, Clav, Vintage Combo Organs, Vintage String Synthesizer, Accordions, Pipe Organ, and many others. The SK series aren't watered-down "light" or "clone" versions of a Hammond, either. All the classic features that "make" a Hammond are included: Real Mechanical Drawbars, "Waterfall" Keyboard, Touch Response Percussion, Chorus Vibrato, and a new-generation "Digital Leslie" that gives the big speaker a run for the money. Your eyes see "portable" but your ears hear, and your touch says: "B-3" 

The Hammond SK1 is the first “Ultra-Portable” organ in its history, weighing in at just 15 pounds, and the first Hammond portable to feature a wide range of Extra Voices. The “Drawbar” section is a complete Hammond Organ with all the traditional features: Real Mechanical Drawbars, Chorus Vibrato, Touch-Response Percussion, and the most authentic Digital Leslie we have ever offered. “Vx” and “Farf” combo organ models are also available, as well as an assortment of fine classical Pipe Organ voices derived from our 935 Church Organ. Acoustic and Electric Pianos, Clavs, Accordions, Vintage String Synth, Wind Instruments and Tuned Percussion round out the specification.

A KEYBOARD MAGAZINE “Key Buy”! The most versatile organ/keyboard anywhere. For all practical purposes, the XK-3c is the “Upper Manual” of a B-3. All the familiar ingredients are there. Reverse Presets, Chorus- Vibrato on the left, Percussion on the right. A 2-tube preamp, and full MIDI controller capability are just a few of the features of this beast. The nameplate says “XK-3c” but play it, and
you’ll think “B-3”.

Get all of the sounds that helped define jazz, gospel, rock, and more in a lightweight package with the XK-3c from Hammond. Weighing only about 55lbs, the keyboard weighs about the same as any portable stage piano but comes packed to the gills with classic Hammond sound.

Digital Features, Classic Analog Sound

Hammond dropped the weight by utilizing advanced modeling techniques to move from the analog to the digital realm. Using Hammond's top of the line VASE III sound engine, the XK-3c is so convincing that even seasoned B3 players would be hard pressed to tell the difference. That means you get all the cool features you would expect from a digital keyboard, such as the ability to save and load presets, an LCD display, and MIDI input and output, without sacrificing sound.

Dual-Tube Preamp

While it's true that digital distortion has come a long way over the past fifteen years or so, lets face it; nothing beats the classic, warm, analog sound of real tube overdrive. That's why the Hammond XK-3c also incorporates a dual vacuum tube preamp using 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes. They can be used gently to add a warm, round color to the sound, or they can be overdriven to produce that classic Hammond growl.

Analog Keys, Digital Features

Of course, there's more to any keyboard than just the sound, and Hammond clearly knows this. That's why the XK-3c comes with 73 velocity-sensitive, vintage waterfall-style keys, 12 of which have the classic reverse pattern for loading presets on the fly. It also includes a walnut-finished cabinet and classic Hammond drawbars to complete the vintage look.
