Floor Monitor mode
Floor Monitor mode is automatically activated when the onboard accelerometer detects the unit is in a horizontal position (the user can manually override this setting). This mode provides a slight reduction in low-frequency content to counteract coupling when the speaker is placed horizontally on the stage. StageSource loudspeakers offer two built-in solutions for 30- and 60-degree monitoring angles achieved via dual integrated kickstands and a robust, retractable handle. When the speaker is in use, the kickstands and handle lock into secure, rattle-free positions.

StageSource L3t offers another
benefit for acoustic performers: acoustic guitar modeling. Most acoustic-electric
guitars utilize a piezo pickup that captures string vibrations but typically
does not convey the resonance of the guitar’s body. The acoustic modeling
feature of the L3t, based on Line 6 Variax Acoustic technology, supplements the
piezo signal with a physical model of an acoustic guitar’s natural body
resonance. The combination of the 3-way loudspeaker, acoustic modeling and
feedback suppression make the L3t a powerful live sound solution for acoustic
musicians.
Electric Guitar mode
Electric Guitar Mode was designed to accommodate the modern guitarist who uses a multi-effects floorboard device such as the Line 6 POD®. Rather than sending the signal from the guitarist’s floorboard to an amplifier and then mic’ing the amp, this L3t mode features an overall frequency response that emulates the sound of a 212 combo amp. The dual 10” speakers play full range, with the horn adding only the smallest amount of sparkle to the sound. Users of the Line 6 POD HD500 or POD HD Pro can plug directly into the L3t L6 LINK™ input on the control panel for digital audio and logic integration. This mode also provides Virtual Tilt-Back, which optimizes the speaker’s tuning to achieve an upward tilt to its main axis and aim the sound towards the performer.

Powerful 1,400-watt, Three-way Design
The 1,400-watt, 3-way, tri-amped speaker system and a dual-braced tour-grade plywood enclosure combine to deliver astounding power and reliability. The innovative multi-function design enables the L3t to be the perfect loudspeaker in a wide variety of applications including floor or stage-stacked, pole-mounted, horizontal as a floor monitor, Virtual Tilt-back for instrument backline or flown with the integrated M10 suspension points for installation.
The electro-acoustic configuration of the L3t, combined with its powerful DSP implementation, provide a unique platform to adapt and optimize the loudspeaker’s performance for a variety of applications. Using Smart Speaker Modes, the system enables the fine adjustment of crossover points, component levels and dynamic control, ensuring the L3t performs optimally across all applications.
The woofer/horn/woofer design of the L3t, a common reference monitor configuration, reflects years of research and has multiple benefits over a traditional two-way 12” woofer and horn design. In the L3t, one 10” driver is optimized for low frequencies, and the other for low- to mid-frequencies, delivering maximum detail and performance where needed. The combined radiating surface area of two 10” drivers is nearly 40% greater than a single 12”, fundamentally resulting in the movement of more air. The lighter cone and mass of 10” drivers also result in more dynamic low frequency transient response overall.
With the 10” driver handling more of the critical vocal range, the output is incredibly smooth, musical and natural throughout the spectrum. The 10” driver in the L3t has a greater mid-high frequency range than a typical 12” speaker, permitting a higher crossover point to the high-frequency driver. Finally, a dual 10” driver design improves thermal management, as heat is now dissipated from two voice coils rather than one, resulting in high performance durability.
A precision-engineered 100x50-degree constant-directivity waveguide delivers consistent coverage throughout its entire frequency range, ensuring everyone in the audience gets the same acoustic experience. The 100-degree horizontal dispersion is wide enough for solo use yet controlled enough for arrayed pairs. The 50-degree vertical coverage reduces acoustic smear from reflective sound surfaces, as minimal energy is reflected off of ceilings and floors.
Fast Networking via L6 LINK
In live sound situations where two or more speakers are needed, StageSource products use a proprietary digital networking protocol called L6 LINK™ to simplify set up. Loudspeakers will automatically self-configure, pan stereo signals, adjust Smart Speaker modes and perform system-wide optimization. Add StageSource L3s subwoofers to the mix and the system automatically sends them the summed signals and sets the crossovers. When combined, Line 6 live sound products form an intelligent ecosystem that sets up faster and helps you sound your best.
When connecting multiple StageSource loudspeakers via L6 LINK, the system automatically assigns channels. When you connect two L3t or L3m speakers together, they automatically configure as left and right. Placing any L3t/L3m in the L6 LINK network on its side automatically configures that unit as as a floor monitor and assigns it a sum of left and right channels. When you connect one or more StageSource L3s subs with L3t or L3m towers, the system automatically selects crossover points.
It's easy to configure the system quickly, even in large PA setups. For example, you could combine four monitor wedges on stage for the musicians, plus a FOH configuration using a pair of L3t speakers combined with an L3s subwoofer on each side of the stage. This system, comprised of eight L3t or L3m units and two L3s subs, can auto-configure with a single run of L6 LINK connecting the units together. L6 LINK digital networking has a powerful impact on the traditional live sound cable paradigm; it also allows musicians and live sound professionals to simplify while improving sound quality.
If you want to take your live setup even further, connect your StageSource speakers to the StageScape™ M20d smart mixing system via L6 LINK to form a complete, networked live sound system capable of unparalleled power and flexibility. Together they redefine the typical mixer-speaker paradigm and create an intelligent live sound ecosystem rather than a linear combination of components.
Line 6 strongly recommends using 110-ohm AES/EBU digital cables when connecting StageScape and StageSource via L6 LINK. Standard XLR cables may yield inconsistent results because of the varying quality of commercially available XLR cables. Line 6 does not recommend cables longer than 50 feet for L6 LINK.
Integrated Multi-channel Mixer with Effects
The L3t can function as a self-contained live sound solution. With a full-featured onboard mixer including multiple inputs for microphones, instruments, external mixers and MP3 players, L3t delivers all of the tools you need for great live sound.
3-band EQ with sweepable mid, Smart Mod and Smart Reverb effects on each input channel allow you to sweeten the sound of any vocal or instrument. Line 6 Acoustic Guitar modeling adds depth and warmth to any acoustic guitar fitted with piezo pickups. Onboard 12-band feedback suppression and an output limiter protects against squeals during your performance. The combination of effects, acoustic guitar modeling and feedback suppression make the L3t a powerful live sound solution for acoustic musicians.

Orientation and Pole-mount Sensors
StageSource L3t uses an internal accelerometer, optical sensors and DSP to accelerate setup and optimize the sound of your system. Based on the information the system detects, it selects the right Smart Speaker mode for the application, and automatically adjusts its performance.
For example, when the unit is powered on in a horizontal position, it automatically selects Floor Monitor mode. This mode provides a slight reduction in low-frequency content to counteract coupling when placing the speaker on the floor.
If any "backline" mode is chosen (Keyboard, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar), the L3t then checks its orientation (via the accelerometer) and looks to see if it is on a pole (via the pole sensor). If the speaker is vertical and not on a pole, the L3t activates Virtual Tilt-back, which optimizes the speaker tuning to achieve an upward tilt to its main axis. This helps to aim the sound upward towards the performer's ears when the speaker is placed on the ground. If the speaker is on a pole, it doesn't activate Virtual Tilt-back because it assumes that the speaker is elevated and aimed in the desired direction.
Integrated Feedback Suppression
Since feedback can ruin a performance, StageSource L3t uses intelligent 12-band feedback suppression to identify the problem frequencies and adjust levels without affecting the overall sound.
L3t feedback suppression continuously analyzes the audio signal, identifying frequencies that have the characteristics of feedback (steady frequencies with few overtones, rising in amplitude) and then applies a narrow notch filter to remove the offending frequency. L3t feedback suppression can remove up to 12 independent feedback frequencies. You can set the feedback analyzer to one of three modes, depending on how aggressively the analyzer will seek out potential feedback frequencies.
Multi-function Design and Scalability
Multi-function design combined with powerful Smart Speaker modes and digital networking provides true scalability whether you’re using a single L3t as a standalone PA or multiple L3t speakers as main PA, monitors and backline. Add StageSource L3s subwoofers and customize a configuration to meet your live sound or installation needs.
Road-ready Construction
StageSource L3t is ready for whatever the road can throw at it. The burly enclosure is constructed of dual-braced, heavy-duty plywood and a tour-grade steel grille with protective screen backing that protects the drivers from impact damage.
If you need to fly the speakers, each StageSource L3t features four professional M10 suspension points with a pull-back.
Scalable systems with L3t and L3m
In addition to the L3t loudspeaker and L3s subwoofer systems, the StageSource™ series also includes the L3m 1,400-watt, 3-way tri-amped, high performance powered loudspeaker system. Designed to expand the capabilities of any existing L3t based or third party PA system, StageSource L3m features balanced XLR/TRS combo jack input, stereo auxiliary inputs, integrated L6 LINK™, and the same multi-function design, Smart Speaker modes, and multi-band feedback suppression from the StageSource L3t loudspeaker system.
