JBL Contractor Series 50
JBL introduces two new speakers to their Control Contractor 50 Series range including Control 50S/T and Control 52.
While the Control 50S/T is a new line of surface-mounted single 8” subwoofers, Control 52 is a range of surface-mounted 2.5” satellite speakers.
JBL’s new subwoofers are unpowered and slip onto the supplied wall bracket very easily. The subwoofer operates in mono with a loop through and has a multitap transformer (80w, 40w, 20w or 8ohm) in addition to an onboard crossover set to suit either two or four Control 52s.
The transformer tap can be adjusted on the input cup using a screwdriver.
JBL Control Contractor 50 Series speakers are available in black or white individually in the case of the subwoofer, in pairs for the satellites and also as a contractor pack consisting of one Control 52S/T and four Control 52s.
All units come with wall mounts and connectors for easy installation.
JBL also offers flush mounted subwoofers and matching satellite speakers. Control 40 CS/T and Control 42C incorporate all the features of the surface-mounted units and can even be intermixed, so long as two or four satellites are matched to each subwoofer.
The ceiling speakers are UL listed for use in air handling spaces, and are supplied with tile rails for the subwoofers as well as supporting C rings for both models.
JBL additionally offers IP44-rated pendant speakers. The new Control 62P can be intermixed with JBL subwoofers. These units are available in black or white and even ship with the cable.
Control 50 series speaker systems consisting of four speakers and a subwoofer can each cover a floor space of up to 100m² for most business music applications.
A. Control 52 Satellite Speaker
The stylish Control 52 satellite loudspeaker produces superb high fidelity sound via a lowdistortion 60 mm (2.5 in) driver, which features a secondary bucking magnet for high efficiency, rubber half roll surround for enhanced bass performance, 19 mm (0.75 in) copper clad aluminum wire voice coil on a vented Nomex® former for high fidelity and reliability, and a copper-capped pole piece for more consistent impedance and extended high frequency response. The wall bracket allows each speaker to be angled up to 45° off-axis.
