FBT Formula 248 Mixer
The New FBT Formula mixers are designed for both Live Sound Reinforcement and Recording applications. Completely Designed, Engineered and Manufactured in Italy,The Formula Series Mixers represent FBT's philosophy to produce products that will provide features, functions, superb quality sound and reliability that go way beyond what the user would normally expect. To produce a "Me Too" product that is very much similar as what's currently available would just "Not Do" for the FBT engineers, who are always striving to "Raise the Bar" when developing new products.

First of all, when the engineers at FBT, Italy were in the design concept stage of the Formula Series mixers, they made sure to employ the features and functions required by today's demanding professional sound engineers and for those who are just beginning to develop their skills in mixing sound whether it be for live performance and or recording.

While lots of features and functions are great, they really do not equate to reproducing Great Sound Quality nor Reliability of the Product. The Heart of any mixer is it's Microphone Preamp.
While most mixer manufacturers simply purchase their Mic Preamp IC Chips from OEM manufacturers, the FBT engineers wanted something better. So, they set out on their quest to design their own. The result is the FBT Precision Ultra Low Noise Mic preamp. The FBT Precision Mic Preamp delivers +74dB of gain for the balanced XLR Mic ins and + 34 dB of gain for the line inputs. Now while lots of gain is great at the mixers input stage, gain alone does not necessarily equate to low distortion, a low noise floor or undesired "coloration " of the sound source. Musicians spend lots of $ on their instruments, amps and effects and most of all, many hours in developing their own "Signature Sound". To have that get lost in the mix by using an inferior quality mixer thats feature laden, but lacks real quality in the critical circuitry results in users sabotaging all their efforts made in creating their own sound.

Some mixer manufacturers tend to "fudge " their specifications when stating them. They list their T.H.D. (Total Harmonic Distortion) in their product sheets, manuals, advertising with just One input being used (a single mic) and or a line source in order to achieve low T.H.D. Specifications. They also do the same thing with the EIN Noise Specs. While this results in impressive specifications on paper, how many folks will only use just 1 microphone or 1 line input with a multi channel mixer? The answer is obvious!

All FBT Formula Series Mixers T.H.D. and Noise ratings are Real World, with all channels being utilized and routed to the mixers outputs. So, when you see the impressive specifications of the FBT Formula mixers you can believe your getting the Real True Specs!
The FBT Precision Mic preamps deliver the goods across the board : Great Gain with ultra low distortion, ultra low noise factor and no undesired coloration. The results are your "Signature Sound" doesn't get compromised from the input stage to the output stage.

Besides great Mic preamps with low T.H.D. and a low noise floor, another important mixer feature is the EQ circuitry. The EQ circuit is where the user can apply their own "Coloration" of the sound source to achieve their desired mix.
The FBT engineers design of the equalisation circuitry used in the Formula Series rivals that of the EQ circuitry found in best British consoles that have much higher price points. You'll find the Formula Mixers EQ delivers a very musical warm tone to your mixes.

Under the Hood: In order to create a great sounding mixer it goes beyond just using great mic preamps and having warm musical EQ circuitry. A mixer is a sum of its parts, and the FBT engineers refused to make compromises and cut corners by using inferior electronic components just to reach a low price point.
All electronic parts are of European and American origin and of military specification tolerances of 1% -5%. What does this mean ? The bottom line is that as the years pass by , you can be assured that the Formula mixers specifications, sound quality will continue to deliver superb sound as when you first placed it into use.And continue to be reliable from session to session and gig to gig. We're so confident of the quality of the build of the Formula Series Mixers we back them with a 5 yr. Parts and Labor Warranty.
